As an additional note about the wing walks - during pre-flight, as best I recall, you could check the hydraulic reservoir levels when you pushed down on the starboard forward aux air door. Also, it was easy to hop off the aft end of either wing walk because the trailing edges were so close to the ground.

I thought it was time to revive the project. I had some military mod projects take me away from the airtanker arena for a bit. But I'm back at these. So far the details are there will be the two models. The -10 and -30 versions. The -10 version will have T-910 in it's introductory livery when it was in service with Cal Fire in the 2007-2008 time frame. The original T-910 was retired a few years ago. Now all versions flown by 10 Tanker Air Carrier are the -30 model. Including the "new" T-910. I will be including repaints for all 4 of their active birds. T-910, 911, 912, and 914 respectively. 2 additional repaints will be as I said, one with the original livery for T-910. The second additional will be for T-910 again, but for the contract markings for NSW Rural Fire Service in Australia. So...

I'm glad to see at least "some" of the developers are being kind on our wallets in terms of giving the V5 products updates to people with the P3D versions free of charge. Also, it seems my initial impressions about V4 aircraft was pretty accurate in assuming most will work without issue. I think the models that don't use PBR are the ones that will probably require the tweaking. That video above looks like the waves may actually be dynamic? Perhaps affected by the weather? Kind of seemed that way with actual swells and such. Interesting. I'd like to see what, if any, weather tweaks were made aside from just the cloud texturing/rendering. It seems like in that regard they've looked to have added more dynamic weather options perhaps?

Quite well known manufacturer who made several models, though only one type was built in considerable numbers.

Tried changing the keyboard - that was not it. Reverted to the default panel and air.cfg (had added the Oriskany deck pack by CIMOGT and fooled around with the AP entries). I get nothing pressing the brake "." key or button. If I press on and off many times the Z key the yellow light flickers on and off and I can hear the "click" sound. Eventually I may get it to stay on and then it all works as advertised. Almost as if there is a command conflict somewhere or not enough electrical power to the activation circuit?

I own these and realism wise, the flight model could use some work. It isn't nearly as agile as the real thing. Some FDE guru could with help that. And no, no working weapons, although there are people here who could "Tacpack" it. Avionics are quite nice. And there are quite a few nice repaints available for it on VGAF. Cheers, Priller

Some FlyFreeStd aircrafts are currently on sale at Simmarket, listed around 12 Euros only. Then I'm hesitating. The only Russian payware planes I had were the various Sukhoi made by BearStudios. The models were nice but unfortunately their HUD is not collimated, which is very disturbing in VR. Now I see that the recent models by FlyFreeStd seem to have: - quite nice exterior models - frankly impressive virtual cockpits (unlike their earlier productions, the recents ones look REALLY good inside) - collimated HUDs So I'm wondering about their realism ? I understood I shouldn't expect any working weapon (they don't use TacPack), but at least a weapon loader is available. What about the avionics and flight model realism ?

Thanks Frank. Yes, brakes mapped to the "." key and pinky trigger on the X52 stick. Both function. Really stumped on this.

For some reason Just Flight where I bought the original SWS F-4 has the PBR edition at full price with no "upgrade" option or price for customers who bought the old F-4 at JF. Anyway, I have now uninstalled this aircraft and guess will go back to the Alphasim F-4. Have become frustrated with the pitch having a mind of its own (pitch trim hat button IS set to repeat and slider in the middle) so can't really fly it, lack of detailed systems manual (e.g., where exactly is the battery switch?), cold/dark or ready to start start ups don;t work, inability to change load outs if you change paints or a/c mid flight and curtailment of the old SWS web site forum, which solved a lot of the earlier teething problems.

Not exactly true.....the Merlin engine ones were underpowered compared to the Hercules engine ones, as the Merlin was a 'Ministry' substitution for the design spec Griffon. Griffon engines being reserved for the Fairey Firefly. The problem with the single engine performance was down to a wartime shortage necessitating some Beaufighters going into service without the ability to feather the propellers.....and while the Beaufighter could stay up on one engine, it was only if the prop on dead engine was feathered, due to the aerodynamic drag. Wiki has a good write up ------> https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_Beaufighter Ttfn Pete
