    runway1b_dirt_rnd is a stock object but MS messed up some place. Grab the runways.bgl and textures from the SCENEDB\runways folder and copy them to the SCENEDB\inf folders.

    Regarding the RWR, if someone is planning on adding Tacpack capability to this airplane, it should be possible to get the RWR on the main panel to work by adding a transparent $ texture just in front of it and placing the TMAP RWR gage on it. I'm very confident that this should work, as I have been able to do it on a few models that I'm in the process of converting for P3Dv4.5. Of course, the other thing to go with it would be working ECM gear...... but RWR is better than nothing :)

    Well, I've got some things to explore here. I'm on Windows 10, obviously with the NOCD crack. I bought the Carenado Cessna 172 on their 80% off sale a couple of years ago and had this trouble, but didn't bother to do anything about it. Now it's the Lionheart Tailwind that's giving me the same grief. A couple of older FSD planes also refused to load on this new computer. Yes, I put FS9 in Program Files, rather than the usual place. The "missing file" wasn't identified in the message I got when I tried to install the planes. So, I'll get to work on these things and let you know what happens. Great to get so much good advice!

    I agree with MaskRider as this is indeed an extremely informative discussion. I have wondered for years now how this is accomplished as I too have several aircraft that need to be corrected. Amazing that learning has never stopped since release in 1999 with this sim. Thank you all.

    Rami I think it's the AI logic, but the airfile influences behaviour too (as does the "category" in the dp file). I took a quick look at all 3 airfiles using AirEd & noticed the GC He111 has a much smaller elevator area (record 320) than either the Do17Z2 or the KM Ju88A4 - (only 13 sq ft versus 49 & 44 sq ft) I suspect changing this value will reduce the elevator authority (record 1101; Cm-de Pitch Moment- Elevator) & thereby it's tendency to use the vertical to react to attack:icon30:. Of course there'll be trade-offs, reduce the elevator authority too much & the Ju88 will suck as a dive bomber:gameoff: (it'll never pull out of the dive, so the AI pilots will probably not go into a dive attack profile, no matter what their mission orders might be...:blind:)

    A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category FS 2004 Military skins - World War II Description: A 'maybe' Paint for Nigel's Avro Tutor. Avro Tutor "under new management" by USAAC "somewhere in England" Based along the lines of the Tiger Moth 'Dorothy' that was known to have been used by 353RD FG; I figured there might have been a Tutor somewhere too. FS9 as I don't run FSX, sorry, feel free to convert for your own use.

    Just tested out the visibility condition and changed it in MCX and it works. The part I need to figure out is to get it displaying above 5 knots or lower. Right now as soon as the ship starts to move it pops up. The only side effect is once you stop forward movement the effect stays visible. Dave, Here is how to do it. Once you have added the effect make sure to export the model, then reload it. Then open the Hierarchy Editor, click on the AttachedEffect for the Bow. To the right click on the Visibility Condition and scroll down to "Forward Movement Visibility" and set it. Export the model. I also changed the effect to the Deltasim KGV spray which is nice as it is effected by the movement of the waves.

    Thanks Ted. Things are looking good on the nightfighter front. I am sure your Stirling will look great. When you get close I have some random VC parts I can send you if you need. I believe they are mostly mapped but need texture applied and to be arranged on texture sheet. As you know the Sunderland yoke , pedals and throttle column should work pretty well for the Stirling. Steve
