P-51D-25-NA 44-73349 (original, unrestored wheel wells - the only thing changed since production are the Swiss placards written in German)

The interior confines of the P-51, gear wells included, were always a patchwork no matter what, throughout P-51 production. There was however more use of primer in late production (such as a P-51D-25-NT - which seems to be about the variant you have depicted here by the cockpit details) vs. early production (such as P-51D-10-NA). This is what is true to original factory production: - In early production, aluminum parts, such as skins and ribs, would be left unprimered if the Alcoa Alclad or Reynolds Pureclad finish remained largely untampered. They would also be left unprimered if spot-welding was required (such as landing gear doors, cowl panels and gun bay doors). - Aluminum forgings and extrusions (such as brackets and stringers) were to receive a single coat of primer. Raw...

The Black Box Simulation Cessna L-19 Bird Dog is available in the MSFS marketplace, comes in standard, amphib and bush versions. Even though it doesn't have guns I think it counts as a war bird.

This looks amazing. And can we select Goodyear or Dunlops? LoL. I hope the paint kit will have weathering on a separate layer so we can have restored warbird repaints. For the gear well colors, you could look no further than the restored P-51B Lope's Hope or the P-51D Sierra Sue for accuracy. You've probably got that covered anyway. Any plans for a B model?

Hello Papi, Yes all models/liveries are only fs9 compatible (as far as I know. Liveries might display on FSX on portovers models) All my screens come from fs9 and are out of the game with no filters or post production effects. I based my work on models enclosed with Rooster (Jonathan Hilaire) Mirage 2000N Basic pack I have Rollus original manual, with came with his update to his original models (can be found at Mirage4fs) I kept the FDE/aircraft.cfg config from the original FDE by Beegee, (clean and dirty configuration, pretty realistic - will go supersonic only in clean) Cheers L'iguane

Well other than the Mustang , if you were to take 4 away from the Mustang we are also working on that. CTRL-Ezy has the pucara ( yes the cockpit from the exterior will be put into the interior but it is the cockpit from the exterior ). Some fast jets but I always think that fast jets arent warbirds as such but warplanes. It's a weird thing. Like the mazda mx5/miata is considered a classic now but classic to me means an MG/pony mustang/lancia aurelia etc.

Probably not. Never say never but the specifications/features/timeline/liveries/price point are pretty much locked in at present. We have got some more features to come but it is pretty complex enough as it is. On a related note.. Chromate yellow/green/bare metal finish in the gear wells is one of the most hotly debated subjects I have ever researched. More so than the "was the hurricane better than the spitfire ? " We know the answer to that one dont we Baz ? :a1310:

Hi Guys, Thanks for your concerns, but you really don't need to worry as the problem is easy to solve with the ExcBuilder program by Paavo Pihelgas. It is just that, everytime I install one of Ian's beautiful airfields, I have to grab the virtual chainsaw. (I real life I'm quite friendly for the environment and I would leave most of the trees.) Cheers, Huub

Hi Rohan, You could be right. It is also possible that the nose art was damaged and repaired what easily could cause a difference. for Tom, But this is my final design. Of course a pair of shoes. I made the girl's background pale blue as I see a difference with the edge on Mal's picture. I've chosen for golden letters for the "Mischievous Mary II" I think the red banner is incorrect and should be blueish medium gray, but I liked the red colour for now. Cheers, Huub

Yes! Good news Zoren. I've been in touch with Ralph through PM and sent him some links to CWHM. I sent him some of my own photos saying, on any given Sunday afternoon it would not be unusual to see our B-25, PBY, Harvard, Stearman, Firefly, C-47s, or Lancaster all at the same time on the tarmac. Also offered to do liveries on static models. He's a great guy!
