That B-24 looks wonderful ! You are pretty darn good at this ! Someone like you is what we need! Be sure to check out PTO-Solomons expansion. Another great expansion and a lot simpler to install than Rising Sun. Plenty of aircraft to get in the Warbirds section along with AnKor's shaders package, which adds so much to the look of CFS3 . It really changes the look and feel of the sim. Regards,Scott

Well I made it for 21 years in flight sim and game design. So Im going to dump the price for two weeks on the Ford Tri Motor and Aeronca to $2.00 per add on! If you don't have these then you can get them for almost free for a limited time. These are set for all versions of FSX AND Steam Fsx. All versions of P3D. :) The site has been set over the weekend and FlightSim.com has it there as well. Thanks for the 21 years of support and look forward to a few pictures of a new add on that is coming up soon! Have fun in the virtual blue!

The one I'm piddling with is the T .Mk1 (XR977-Red Arrow). The readme indicated it was originally done by Brian Franklin, some updates (FDE) by Bob Chicilo, and finally by A.F.Scrub in 2013. I have completely redone the VC and one of our members is looking at it to see if the many "holes" can be corrected. That's the real drawback right now. I also did a simple hi-res (layered) PK for it.

I've got it! Thanks for the information guys, every little bit helps!! I don't know why, but when I opened these two files (both .bdp and .xdp), making changes to them in the regular Windows 10 Notepad, the game balked on their validity and wouldn't load the plane. At least the game would load (nice of Microsoft to ignore the corrupted file and go on with its business). With the .bdp removed, the game would load my plane, but the "Description" menu was still using the original .xdp text, as gecko stated. The files "Description" area is where I needed to change the text, but my regular Notepad editor wasn't saving the text correctly? The game just didn't like my saved text files from Notepad. I decided to try Windows XLM Notepad and made my changes with it. POOF, I was successful in...

What great news, Ed! I'm working my way through closely simulating RAF/RN fast jet training, and I have a bit of a hole after the Jet Provost. I don't own the JF Hawk, so a Folland Gnat would be lovely for 60s/70s training. What model are you enhancing? I vaguely recall you at one point were working on the Simshed model. I recall enjoying that way back in FS9. Hoping your project works in P3DV4, but understand if that's outside your scope. You probably have seen these - but here's some decent shots of the aircraft, including the cockpit: https://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/gnat/walkaround.php

Excellent John. Is it too late to request a copy of the above scheme before squadron markings etc are applied? Purity of form and function. Geoff

Hi John, Amazed by your work (and research) so far on the PT879!! About normal maps in MSFS, best way to convert the normal "blue/purple" ones, is to remove all the Blue in the image so you get a yellow/orange texture. Cheers, Marcel

Pete that would be awesome (if they will allow it). Being familiar with texturing and what would be ideal when thinking about photos and their use in texturing a VC, you would be more apt to get the "top down" close in shots of the avionics panels (left and right) and then any close-ups of the main panel. The problem always seems to be that placards and smaller decals are unreadable and those little things make the overall feeling much more realistic. I have placed some avionics that were made for other airplanes and they suffice since nothing on the side consoles is functional anyway, but having the exact items in their correct places would really finish it off nicely.

Ed, The Norfolk and Sussex Aviation Museum has a Gnat cockpit procedures trainer. No 'inside' photos on their website https://aviationmuseum.net/index.html https://aviationmuseum.net/ImageLibrary/OurAircraft/Gnat.JPG but you might inquire via email nsam.flixton (at) gmail.com as they may well have manuals or training photos in their archive.
