Hi, everyone, IJN filmed Fuchida’s AI-301 on April 5, 1942 (Akagi, Battle of Ceylon). It was the same air frame flew over Pearl Harbor. Heavy duty for four months changed its green painting into camouflage-like dazzle painting.

No, I have other sources that are more accurate :) Nigel made an outstanding model; and his paintkit makes it reasonably straightforward to knock out different schemes. There's more to come when the 626 version breaks cover... ttfn Pete

Hi all, been working on updating the paintkit on dave's fantastic hunters. coming along nicely until now,I need heavy intel on UK stenciling, lets say stuff that are not already on the net as i scavenged it sideways the past days already. I'm seeking mainly top and bottom stenciling, maybe some of you guys have valuable stuff that could help. In the meantime here's some of the result. heavy work on the surfaces detailing, plus shadowing. mainly on mk 58/68 for now but it'll do for britsh hunters too.

K5066 was converted / demilitarised from a 626 after WW2 by Southern Aircraft Ltd, at Gatwick, registered as G-AHVO it ended its' days at Pebsham airfield,Hastings. Accounts as to the colour vary (there is only 1 monochrome picture of it on the web) from black / battleship grey to blue. And as to its' fate, again varies between being broken up on site, having been attractive to animals,to taken away in pieces and the fuselage being seen in Ramsgate. The registration was recorded cancelled in 1950. As overall black doesn't work that well in sim, I've gone for blue , and left the townend ring and undercart legs au naturel for some 'bling'. ttfn Pete

Thanks to all of you! I'll be away for the coming days with my family, so not much time to spend behind a PC, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome on this board! Priller

Did some in depth digging and the cars are constructed around an Onroak-Ligier tub en route from the USA by Gary Rogers Motorsport (Gary Rogers being one of the oldest V8 team owners). Apparently the Australian Racing Group, which is backed by a consortium of wealthy businessmen/enthusiasts, attempted to hook up with the Supercars and AGP people, who expressed no interest. ARG run the TCR Australia series so it's a given that the Supercars mob do not want them on the same bill, which nobbles the S5000 lot as well. Too add to the unknown factor, 'S5000' is just a working title, the official series 'name' is yet to be released. TCR Australia is linked to the international 2 litre tourers, which actually provides some really competitive racing in cars that are readily recogniseable to...

Sadly I think this will be another dud. The cars have gone so far from the original concept they really have nothing in common with 'F5000'. Last time I looked they resemble an F3 Dallara on steroids, unsurprising as the chassis is (apparently) built by Dallara. Looks as if the CAMS muppets have decreed the F1 fashion should be followed, so the 'Halo' adds to the inherent ugliness. As for a proposed (unconfirmed at this point) 14 car grid, pathetic. Way back in the mid 1980s some idiot came up with 'Formula Brabham', essentially an F3000 fitted with the awful GMH iron V6. Several domestic build cars performed well, but eventually dropped out as people imported Reynard, March and Lola F3000 chassis rather than stand by the locals. We always were baffled as why CAMS sanctioned such a...
