    With the holiday season in full swing, work on the Skycranes has been rather slow with travel and other responsibilities at home. Progress on sounds has been the biggest step forward thus far. Honestly, the files are still a mess, a side effect of doing this many modifications. But I digress. I've opted at foregoing adding APU sounds. The addition of them is far too complicated and time consuming for the options available. So it will be left alone, perhaps for another time. I'm hoping to get all the versions finalized and into FSX beta testing some time in the middle of this month. But that is a pretty loose assessment based on the other projects I'm working on for SATO. I've also looked into the feasibility of the fuel tenders being available for use in FSX, but it does not look like at...

    You should see the official forum. This update was just nav data - some waypoints added and a few deleted. But there's a placebo effect that has a few people saying things are better on their system, and a lot more saying their performance has tanked because of it. But the only thing that I can see that might have a possible effect on performance is the new AI traffic file. But I'm guessing that it just changed some routing because of the new waypoints, and didn't really add or subtract enough to make a difference.

    Today, 20:19 make place for new ones to materialize. It's called evolution and that's a good thing, otherwise we'd all still be living in a cave without our precious computers (we're going to regret some day that we invented these things..) :teapot: I believe many simmers still use FS9 or even earlier iterations of our favourite flying toy. That might well go on far into the forseeable future and no doubt will be the same re FSX and P3D. Nothing wrong with that. With MSFS we are entering an almost totally new virtual flying world. An evolution in its own right. ( "A small step for men, a giant leap for mankind" springs to mind. ;-) One needs to step into this new world with an open mind. Forget about FS9/FSX/P3D.     From an end user's standpoint (who's spent many thousands of dollars on addons over the last decade and a half), there does come a point when you do stop buying for a legacy platform for the simple fact one uses them less or not at all anymore. I have reached that point with FSX/P3D even before FS2020 came out as I expanded more deeply into a more fulfilling use of DCS for it's high performance range aircraft models and capabilities. I only kept P3D mainly to accommodate using aircraft models (tubeliners) for their more advanced system flows but to be honest, I can get a good bit of that now out of the basic tubeliners in FS2020 and more advanced models from different devs are right around the corner.     ok good - I thought it might be my imagination. It doesn't happen with any specific or repeatable instance of a keystroke or anything I have detected - it is just random enough and rare enough to seem imagined or excusable as an inadvertent keystroke (fatfinger) but it isn't that. try this though - when you realize pressing the appropriate response number does nothing, try your stick or yoke and see if it is ineffective or deactivated...

    I wish they'd tell us when they're going to push an update. Unless I turn off bandwidth limiting in the configuration, downloads take forever because of endless restarts for the large packets. Once the update gets pushed though, theres no way to get into the sim to remove my bandwidth limit setting.

    Hello Ivan, I see. Then its just as well you mentioned the different lengths depending the type of nose, so Ill check the length for the solid nose before posting another WIP. I also noticed small differences in the placing of the 4 nose-tip machine-guns, and Ill check how the RAAF Havocs had theirs. Anyway, I finally got the plain flaps in, and with no bleeds! I went scrounging for free components and got 4, and managed to separate outer wings into mid- and outer components, also getting outer flaps into components. As a result, the glue-sequence works very well, and the filler-triangles are back in. All rather satisfying! Now I only have to re-map the fuselage textures, as one of the components came from the fuselage, and this has upset the original...

    Pam Booker and I are getting pretty close to a release on the OzX Goose Redux HD for MSFS (phew what a mouthful), though we might need to change the working title. Pam remains the only active member of the OzX team who updated the original FSX Goose and we've spent a lot of time with this beauty making her even better for MSFS by replacing all of the old 2D XML Instruments with 3D Gauges, upscaling all of the textures to 4K using AI Upscaling and creating PBR textures for all of the liveries as well.     Patience is indeed a virtue but I have said it before and I'll say it again... There are numerous comments out there along the lines of "I'm not buying any more add-ons for P3D/FSX/whatever...I'll wait for MSFS" That's all fine but the point is that until the development process becomes more user friendly (by that I mean Dev-friendly) it is going to take a LONG time for the average small to medium developer to make add-ons to the expected standards. In the meantime, developers need to sell to survive. They can't live on "patience". The only products most have to sell and more importantly, are faster to develop new are for the FSX/P3D platform. If nobody wants to buy then those devs will begin to fade. That is a fact.:engel016:
