I look at other's screen shots and the water looks much better. Dusk/Night sky also has a strange quality to it. I am running Ankor's Shaders and regular terrain/ daytime sky looks fine?

hi agathosdaimon, you need to access the drop-down menu when you run cfs3config. Go into custom edit or something (not at my fingertips sorry). Uncheck the box dual pass render. check the box disable shadows and hi res z buffer. Also do all the good things for boosting memory for aircraft textures. Use the rendertarget options where available for textures. Important than when you leave you go through the Exit option in the drop down menu - NOT the 'x' at the top of the box. Also have you checked some of the guides for setting CFS3config? The Groundcrew guide is good but old so you can boost texture numbers http://www.mrjmaint.com/RegsHanger/Groundcrew/homepage/Garage/2048%20textures/Ground%20Crew%20Design%20CFS3%202048x2048%20settings.php HTH

Has anyone heard from @Nigel Richards? It has been a while since I saw him here, and haven't received a reply to a PM which is unusual as well. With all the goings on worldwide, I'm a bit worried and would very much appreciate at least knowing all is well. Ta- C

The 110 turns into me and I lash out with a burst as he passes behind me. No-one is more surprised than I am when he goes straight down. Both crewmembers manage to bail out; the second one just in time, by the look of it. That last Hun hit me several times, and Iíd already collected one or two before that. The good news is that we seem to have wiped the floor with those Huns; the boys are all done and thereís no more visible targets to send them after. But I've pushed my luck and now itís time to pay the price. Within seconds, I can feel and hear the power draining out of my engine. A few seconds more and the prop has spun to a stop.

I have an A-3 for your statics. I will send that to you via PM. I will rework the deck statics for TA-4J TRAWING CQ and T-2 TRAWING CQ and send those over as well.Deke

Climbing back up, I tag onto another 110 who is behaving rather strangely, tuning this way and that and making the occasional half-roll. I decide to put a stop to all this and line him up. However, he evidently sees me coming, snaps out of it, and pulls up sharply. I end up following him through a series of turns, climbs, dives and various combinations thereof. The pilot throws his big aircraft around the sky with commendable skill. Twisting after him like a hare, G-induced darkness begins to close in again. You can't cheat by going to the external view - see? It gets even tighter, and even darker...

My next intended victim also turns out to be a Spitfire. If I show you my view as seen through the tactical display, you can perhaps understand why I'm a bit confused. Finally, I find an aircraft which is not a Spitfire.

WHOO HOOO ! Thanks man!! So, since you asked, aircraft that were in the Essex's last combat ops (i.e, SEA in the mid to late 60's with hi viz) - so, F-8, A-4, A-3, A-1D, E-1B - these aircraft IMHO fall in into sweet spot for a lot of folks here. And have given rise to colorful and wonderful paints - just look at what's been done for the RFN Crusaders recently! The larger carriers are there for Phantoms, Vigi's, A-6''s, A-7's, E-2C's and also lo viz paints.

You need to apply Brakes (default: pull the stick back) to change transmission mode out of Park position. As IRL Ö. See last past of the QuickStart doc. Does that solve it ?? Cheers, Rob

For me its impossible to quantify how much FS2004 is worth for me. The amount of money invested in payware doesn't say much because for FS2004 there was far more freeware available than there is for for instance FSX. And the freeware offered was often from at least the same quality as the payware in those day. And also the amount of money asked for payware was much lower. The WWII fighters package by Shockwave/A2A is a fine example. It was a CD with 5 different aircraft, some even with multiple versions, it came with free updates, which could even turn models into a FSX native version for those who flew the newer sim. I bought the CD for 25 Euros, which means less than 5 Euro per model. The models were amazing for those day. As FSX offers more possibilities the models are more...
