DC1973 replied to a thread Size of things in VR in MSFS (FS2020)
The size of some cockpits is incredibly small. I'm working on the F-16C and it feels like sitting in a go-kart. I was convinced I'd got it wrong somehow, but some research revealed that the MFD screens in that cockpit are just 4" wide - mine were the same. Sitting in other cockpits in museums etc confirmed the cramped nature of many aircraft cockpits. I think that, as mentioned, in the past it was possible for developers to model a cockpit at the incorrect size, but it's much easier to keep track of these things in modern software and also the way that MSFS builds aircraft - the cockpit is a separate model but is set to "allow the exterior model to be visible". The result is that cockpit must match the exterior, which is much easier to ensure size in development. Not saying that VR...

Alrightee then :) Just a bit more information and a questions. 1. RCS B25 version information. The development of the B25 was originally for FS 2002 (FS8) using Gmax. Before it was released, FS 2004 (FS9) hit the shelves. Whilst there were numerous new features available within FS9 as far as Gmax/model/textures were concerned, due to the urgency of getting the B25 released and not delay it even further to convert/modify model/textures to take full advantage of the new FS9 features, virtually none of these were explored or utilised. We also realised that the FS8 model would run in FS9 but a "full FS9" version would not run in FS8, so to keep it simple, we used the FS8 model/compiler which would allow completion/development on one model our end but would run in both versions of FS at...

Thanks for the heads-up. Even though I am eagerly awaiting a AN-2 for FS2020, this one still need a lot of work. I'll hold till it's closer to a v1.0

Good to know as I figure the sim out. Already had the "insert game disc 1" issue the very next day after flying fine on day 1. Ran through everything in on the Zendesk page to get going again. I feel like I have limited control going through the "Community" folder like adding/removing liveries and such. Years of being used to FS/P3D I guess.

Now, with respect to MSFS updates...... I read in another thread that before running any updates, rename the Community folder to something else (or add a description like 'old'). Run the update, the open MSFS as if to do a flight, close MSFS, go to look for the update-created 'new' folder called 'Community', then delete this one and rename your original 'Community' folder back to same name. Apparently this eliminates update issues which may pertain to addons and prevent MSFS from updating successfully. Still, however, I think you would have to launch each addon after a successful MSFS update if truly want to find out they are all compatible with the update, as I don't think MSFS will tell you on it's own that addons X, Y, Z ,,,, etc are not compatible with the latest MSFS...

https://flightsim.to/file/21874/antonov-an-2-wip It looks a bit low-poly and is still early in development, but it might scratch an itch some may have had.

This is a good point, Denny. The MSFS app can be easily moved to another drive down the road, anyway. I think then having both the app and the 'rest' (in a custom folder) on a separate, dedicated drive is probably best, just in case C drive fails.

Yes. Too many threads exist about MSFS addons and various issues, .... but very few threads exist regarding "How to install MSFS2020 from the MS Store 'the way which will minimize issues down the road' " on a W10 computer. Right ?

Well so far no result. Another point that I have just thought of, is, that one also needs lights on the home base for take off, so if the spawn doesn't work, then it's not a good idea to start with!:pop4::dizzy:

It seems like I remember that someone in the know stated that Asobo is looking at a zoom slider for VR. I don't fly with the goggles, so I didn't really pay attention.
