Is there an F4U-1C out there with the actual gun fairings on the model? It used to be you could use a hex editor to change the texture graphics type in the mdl. Still true? What hex editor would you recommend? Does CFS2 support .jpg or .png or .dds or .tif files for textures?

I Certainly think more developers will do this. As others have already said, up until 4.4 developers could make there FSX models and do a simple convert to 64 bit and it would work, or make it for 64 bit and then 'simplify' there model to work in FSX. As new features like PBR become more accepted and even demanded by customers its not just a matter of converting from one to the other, now you have to re-implement features using completely different methods. As you can see from many of the comments for a large percentage who are saying with FSX the reason is financial, they don't want to spend the money on the new hardware and/or software to run the latest SIM. So if your a developer and your creating something new, of course your going to make sure its P3D compatible before you do...

Anybody can model, anybody can paint, anybody can code gauges. It's just a matter of focus.

I have the Flight 1 / Aeroplane Heaven P-51D for Steam. One of the variants is the Maurice Hammond rebuild done in the "Janie" livery. In the Steam version the nose art graphic that spells "Janie" is rendered upside down on both sides of the nose panels. Is a fix available for this? I'm sure Maurice would appreciate his work being properly represented on the two beautiful P-51's he built, especially since this is the plane that was involved in a tragic crash landing in 2016.

Steve does an excellent job describing everything from start to shutdown, all comms, nav, radios, requirements all phases of flight in IMC conditions. It's a great short flight, single pilot doing everything and he communicates it all to you. Very instructional and informative.

I think you are forgetting you can plug in your old hard drive and not go through any setting hassles. Believe me, the advance performance would be well worth it. i remember very well when FSX was released and very few people could run it. It took a super computer to get anything but a slide show. It took me a year before I upgraded. Time marches on and FSX can Run well on a “mid” spec computer.

Currently use a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro stick and want to upgrade. Does anyone know of the VKB Gladiator Joystick? Hear it's pretty good quality and great for the price. I want a all in one unit and do not want separate rudder pedals or throttle. Is this a good buy or what should i look at ? My 3D Pro is starting to get loose and is making flying get harder after only a couple of years. Regards,Scott

Agree with get back OT but here's a thought........only one developer appears to have taken this decision so far, but perhaps the 'First of Many'? :encouragement:

Stuart277: I see a great contrast between the coastal areas and the open sea in your screenshots. I use the stock water textures with the Pactex and it looks more natural. If you want them, I can send them to you. Cheers: SW07

Okies. Gotta finish installing that mesh. I set aside a separate install for it, then got distracted by installing maskrider's scenery into the default one.
