Apart from the spindly MG15s and the equally-undernourished clutching hand of the observer, the VC I don't mind at all, and dynamic shadows bring it to life. Back over London's southern suburbs, the cloud seems to be pretty thick and I'm beginning to worry about the bomb run. Up ahead, I can see that Old Father Thames keeps rolling along, down to the mighty sea, as the song puts it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_60TCnfSlIw A check with the Tactical Display establishes that we're fourteen miles from our next waypoint, the target itself. And that other echelons of friendly aircraft are also running in with us. There's also some unidentified aircraft further out to our right rear.

Hi Stuart277, If you are using Pen32Win's and my INf so called fix. That is if you have INF,INF1,and INF2 installed instead of the stock inf file. I would suggest you removed these files and reinstall the stock inf file. There is a problem with the others. Hope this helps, B24Guy

Happens to me, every now and then...real bummer. Seems Gmax doesn't like some things to be done, so it kicks back. Autosave works great, plus keeping a copy, almost everyday.

I was doing some more research on reticles and discovered that in 1944 they started modifying the gunsight in the Tempest to eliminate the angled glass plate and let the image reflect off the windshield. You can simulate this mod with a hex edit of the reflector glass in the cockpit m3d to make it fully transparent (00 00 00 00 instead of 00 00 00 19, and then use this positioning for the dynamig reticle: <Effect Type="Track" EffectName="US_AAF_n6a_gunsight" PosX="-0.015" PosZ="-1.00" PosY="0.618" Pitch="90.25" MinVel="-999999" MaxVel="999999"/>

Hello fellow virtual aerial firefighters! I am glad to announce that I have been working for a few... months on modelling and interfacing a pélicandrome model with Lorby SI's FireFighterX! "Pélicandrome" is how refill stations are named in France, a portmanteau of Pélican, the callsign of French waterbombers (Catalinas, then CL-215 and CL-415) and aérodrôme (airfield). The target platform is FSX (I don't fly with P3D), but this should also work fine in P3D. An issue with the animations got me banging my head against the wall for most of the last two months. I couldn't find a solution (the modelling wizards at FSDeveloper.com neither). So I have had to change my way of dealing with the hose and hose crew animations, and I have just been able to come to a...

The hose crew can't walk around (having them walk would mean I could not...

I'm happy to announce that I'll be producing new sound packs for the new Microsoft Flight Simulator. I will be offering sound packs via my own site as well as other sites and market places yet to be announced. I will also be partnering up with third party developers who are creating aircraft and other content for the simulation and providing them with audio. Having spent quite a bit of time with the new audio engine in MSFS called Wwise, I'm very excited to be using this engine again. I worked on the Mass Effect Series and Star Wars: The Old Republic using Wwise and know how powerful and solid it is. Over the next few weeks I'm sorting through the SDK that I've received and all the documentation and getting the work flow sorted out. A big thanks to the folx at Osobo and Microsoft...

Agreed. I'm particularly looking forward to this one... but hoping it'll have 1) more flexibility with the textures and therefore paint kit (I did a lot of :banghead: with the FSX/P3D version until I finally gave up with my repaints); and 2) even more options which can be toggled on/off so each individual can have the Beaver they want (e.g. option for floats, different wing tips, 2- vs 3-blade prop, pointed vs rounded vs no spinner, round vs rectangular cabin windows, regular vs tundra wheels/tyres, old vs modern gauges). My personal preference would be to have sufficient options to "backdate" a Beaver to those flown by the US Army, USAF and British Army. The more one looks the more one realises there is a LOT of variability between Beavers, ancient and modern, given all the options.

Richard. This is all great and exciting news. Looking forward to this new experience. :encouragement::applause: I would be interested in knowing how to relaunch the seaplane after it's first launch, Especially after landing near the ship

Hi S, Yes, I get the same thing now and again. It's that dreaded unknown CFS2 amount game again! It won't be ac, as that would come up as unable to QC or FF, but may be numbers of DP's, weapon bgl's, inf or scenery add-on bgls, vehicles etc or possibly in your case ships! (ha ha). For me, I have found if you're near the limits of something then you get this warning once, re-start the sim and go again and it's ok. If over the 'limit' then you will alwyas get this message. If you get a vanilla copy of CFS2, and add excatly what is needed for that mission/campaign etc, I bet it will load and run perfectly, that's the best test of the campaign/mission really, if it runs ok then go back and reduce the amounts in various folders of your main sim. I was getting that warning with...

Remember you can get the basic version for a month for £1 with a trial of the XBox game pass (its just words, you don't need an Xbox). That way you can try it out and check out Bend Oregon before investing. I'm a beta tester and can only say it feels nothing like FSX and you won't be disappointed in VFR flying in small planes. I've certainly pre-ordered. Just keep expectations in check...anyone expecting Orbx TrueEarth for the whole world and a bunch of payware quality airports and aircraft out of the box
