This seems to be the right place to gauge the reception for a new project. I am hardly out of things to work on, but recently I had noticed that I had done an awful lot of development on the Curtiss P-40 series. There are only about three more models to do before I have a pretty good representative of what Curtiss actually built in the P-40 line. (The P-40Q is such a radical change that I probably won't be building it anytime soon if at all.) When going through photographs of the P-40 series, one very odd idea that probably never made it past the mock-up stage was a twin engine version. While I am sure this was never actually produced, I believe it would make for a very interesting little hotrod. The version in the photograph was barely plausible because it used the basic P-40...

Hi Milton Thanks very much for the recognition light coordinates, they work a treat. I got my aerials and pitot tubes mixed up. I use shockwave recognition lights which are'nt too overpowering at all. Thanks again. Regards Paul Day.

Just took a quick look at the Ventura just now - very nice work Milton and team! :) Here's some helpful information for potential painters - Of course this great speech by Quint from Jaws came to mind too -

Further re weather; a reminder of where to get historical info. I don't see jet stream info but isobars give some rough ideas of lower level likely wind; and weather! Original Translate I doubt old jet stream weather is easily available as no one really knew about it.

I did get an email from on of the team down in Texas last week. I was working on the Special Kay skin when I had the PS SNAFU that killed the fuselage master file. It won't feel right unless I do a "Kay" skin for the model, so I'll just have to fix it. :encouragement:

    Posted above, but here is what I used for the Ventura as a test. light.12 =7, 7.302, 0.00, -3.085, fx_recog_G //recog - green light.13 =7, 6.426, 0.00, -3.131, fx_recog_R, //recog - red light.14 =7, 5.471, 0.00, -3.206, fx_recog_A, //recog - amber Those lights are old FS9 lights and would probably draw every enemy in every type of aircraft or vessel within 100 miles to shoot your butt down. LOL

As a general rule, if it's made for FSX SP1, SP2, Acceleration, Deluxe, Gold, it will work fine in SE. The reverse is also true. If it's made for SE, it should work fine in FSX with Acceleration. I've found the biggest difference is USUALLY the autoinstaller. Ones made for FSX (Box) have trouble finding the SE install location. Quite often, the reverse is also true. Easiest way to overcome these limitations is to point the autoinstaller at an empty, easy to find, temp folder of some sort, then cut-n-paste the results into the chosen FSX installation manually. Just make sure the right files go into the right folder in the target FSX. You don't want effects files (*.fx) placed in the ...\FSX\Gauges folder, and so on. Also, as a general rule, FS9 planes may, or may not work, in FSX....

Nahhh, I'd always get distracted by people or animals or something would come up and i'd literally fry the board.. Thats also pretty much how I ended up with the 1070. My last card was some older but high end card that overheated and i tried baking but ended up with a partially blackened card..

One of my favorites in P3Dv4. (I have about 10 favs, but almost always go back to PC-21 every 5 flights.) If there are any big issues, I have not noticed. The one issue that does concern me some is the "wheel chocks" that appear when parking brake applied, but not a "safety of flight" matter. Install it, you'll like it!

Hi giruXX:encouragement: She is from Chile and started as Model A.L. (Avion Liviano), but was soon renamed by ENAIR (ENAER (Empresa Nacional de AeronŠutica de Chile) asECH-02 (ECH-002) —amcu. The EE-10 Eaglet was an improved variant developed in my country by ENAIR-Europe (EuroEnair) and two aircraft received a PH-registration. PH-EAG was the former CC-PZL which was transferred to the Netherlands. It was followed by PH-ABG which was built in Holland. After the programme was halted in 2002, PH-EAG went to the Delft Technical University and PH-ABG was returned to Chile where she became CC-PBZ and she ended in the Musea Aeronautica collection.

Welll, you see, thats why i posted this video and mentioned Fraps. Fraps will take almost any video card and reduce your FPS to between 1 and 7 FPS due to the nature of the format it saves the video in, which takes up several gigabytes in space for just a few minuts of recording. This video began as a fifteen gigabyte file for example and had to be converted before i could upload it. The end result you see here, is a 748 MB file. So, the lag you see, isnt from th video card, its from Fraps.. I typically run P3d at between 60 to 100 FPS depending on the complexity of the scenery. Some Tokyo scenery for example is so dense it it has over the last decade become a traditionaL place to avoid in any simulator but especially FSX and P3D. New Yorks jFK will also grind most machines to a halt. ...

The Ventura textures show 3 recognition lights just behind the pitot. I assume that is what the question refers to? If so, I can get those coordinates to you. EDIT: Light coordinates for the Ventura front - green 7.302', 0.00, -3.085' center - red

Same flight model, just weight differences. I also reduced fuel capacity so that the retardant load could be at max. The alias statement points to the correct Harpoon folder here and works; not sure why it did not work for you assuming you have not changed the Harpoon folder name from HarpoonFSX. If you did change the folder name, then change the alias statement to be the name of the Harpoon folder, or just copy the Harpoon Sound folder over.

Hi Milton Unless there are different flight characteristics different from the PV-2 that I should look for the fire tanker flies pretty much the same (to me) as the PV-2. The drop mechanism and drop itself worked flawlessly as far as I could determine. I couldn't make the aliased sound work in P3D V4 so I just copied the existing PV-2 sound over. All good so far. Thanks for doing this airplane. Warren
