Thanks for the response, but what I was, really, after was a way to get the instructional videos to play 'in-game'. I'm aware of media player classic. However, even with it installed trying to play the videos only results in the sim crashing.

Hi, I believe your solution is to get FSRecorder. It works well with sim and windows. You can use it's 'Instant Replay' to playback flight. It will not save video. It only plays it. There is where FRAPS comes in. You record your footage with FRAPS. It is payware but inexpensive for what it does (which is A LOT - and does it well). OR...You can do a FSRecorder 'Instant Replay' and in Menu choose 'Render' and FSRecorder will render (although it does it VERY s-l-o-w) your replay into a *.wmv file (ok for YouTube). It renders slowly but even if you are getting 15 fps it will 'effectively' render it a 30 fps which is neat. Your choice which one to use. I like to try things so have done both FRAPS and FSRecorder videos. I prefer the FRAPS videos as they are 'ONE KEY' record start/stop. I...

Grover - I use and do not think it is too bad, it is a bit bereft of good instructions but basically seems to work pretty good. Have a look at the thread on the FSX forum about aluminium skins/textures they were all done with Paint, net. In fact all my repaints have been done using that program. I also have the GIMP but like lots of these programs, free or payware, you have to invest a lot of time learning the basics about doing skins or painting and there is no shortage of advice and various tutorials (jan Kees has one taking you through the basics). I guess if you want to go really high class or professional you need to a lot of paints, it is a real learning process and probably if I was really keen I would really get into using GIMP or Photoshop but takes care of...

Looks great! Can't wait to play with them! Some Battle of Britain missions would be awesome with the Beaufighter Mk.I.

I have the Bulldog, as well as most, if not all of the missing FS2004 AH freeware. It will be a great pity if the older freeware collection disappears forever. AH even released a flying pumpkin many years go, possibly for Halloween. Yup, I do have an eclectic collection of weird & unusual FS2004 stuff. PM me with an email address... Regards, Robin

I was just thinking, I do that on occassion.. Would it be great if... I found this Hurricane by Charles Kirk, & it's VERY unusual by not having a skin. You can see all the ribs, spars, & everything else under the skin. Imagine the Avro... PM me & I'll send the zip.

Hi James, I've checked all my installs, the only one with a places folder in it is Clives BoB addon, they are sets of files usually associated with building files, but they in some cases incomplete sets. so my guess is a WIP folder of some sort for placing ground textures for various building locations in game. regards Rob.
