Hello Gman5250, Thanks for the dispatch of all that material. What wealth of detail! It´s all there - all the info for all the models. Wow! I don´t know about the Gmax buiding though... First I´ll give it a go in my usual AF99 for CFS1, and see about Gmax after that. I´ll study it and report back. Cheers, Aleatorylamp

Hello All, It has been an amazingly busy month! After correcting the ammunition weight in the DP file, I thought I was close to done. The basic handling of the D-23 Razorback is actually fairly good, so I figured that updates to the AIR file would be fairly simple. These turned out to be famous last words yet again. This was one of those cases that I found that my knowledge of AIR files is somewhat inadequate to make the adjustments that I wanted. I found out that some of the values that I was "Tuning" really had no effect at all. The Wing Center of Lift appears to be a FS98 vestige and while the later simulators use Record 1534 for the same purpose, none of the stock CFS AIR files have this nor do they respond when such a record is added. There are obviously other ways that I...

Much of my original data will match the data from Milton. I have worked the FM with some professional assistance to get the cruise speeds and MAP a bit more dialed in. I've also got a bit more background data to add. I'll zip mine up as well. All of the above will most likely be of significant help to you sir. :very_drunk:

211 Dear Pilots, The team continues to make ready our next update (3.007) and they are too busy to showcase anything from the upcoming update in this diary entry. So, today we’d like to show you some of the USAAF and RAF squadron emblems we have commissioned for Battle of Bodenplatte. These have been created by our good friend Isaac ‘Spektre76’ Chavira who is a member of our awesome IL-2 community. He has done a great job of researching and recreating these colorful and fun squadron emblems. USAAF squadrons had a unique approach to designing squadron insignia. The style was usually cartoonish and drew inspiration from animated movies which were extremely popular during the 1940s. RAF squadron insignia were very regal in their design sporting crowns, banners and even jewels....

Hello! Thank you for the preliminary details! I would expect that the 400 mph would be at S.L.,the 435 mph at 3000 ft, and the 460 mph perhaps at critical altitude. Then, 2100 Hp seems max. power at S.L. and would be for the engine on versions after the 1st production lot. The supercharger must have had higher manifold pressure, so S.L. performance

MS will not withdraw the cloud services anytime soon, especially given all modern industries are investing in that area at the moment. In the recent past, MS did change something though: it reduced the available storage space for free hotmail/outlook users. However, this wasn't "without notice". In fact, MS warned us many months in advance. Onedrive, formerly known as Skydrive, exists since a very long time and works very well. I have lost quite a few files I saved on CDs, DVDs or hardrives. I have not lost a single file on the cloud. Yet. ;)

Oh come on Jafo. Cloud services are the future. M$ is heavily investing in it, and more than likely, local storage will become a thing of the past. if you're really distrustful, by all means, backup locally, but the advantages offered by cloud storage are plenty. M$ will not stop or withdraw the service anytime soon and definitely not without warning. I always wonder why some people over here are so distrustful of progress... Oh wait, they're still flying FSX... Priller

Thanks for the suggestions. The Just Flight Bae 146_200 still not working properly after multiple downloads and installs. It appears Just Flight technical support stops replying when no easy solution solves the issue. Never experienced this flickering VC issue with an FSX airplane. One of the reasons I'm now reluctant to spend money on FSX_A. Thanks again.

I would strongly advise NOT to rely solely on 'the cloud' or in fact any alternate location which is not under your own full control. There is nothing to prevent Microsoft or any other provider from withdrawing the service without warning....or shutting it down without notice....going bust....or, as is the current expertise evidenced by the latest Win 10 updates....simply deleting a User's files with the one apology...."Oops". It is akin to making a careful backup on an SSD but then handing it to the first stranger you see in the street and saying 'look after this for me'. You wouldn't....and likewise you shouldn't. Best practice may see 'the cloud' as yet one more option...but NEVER a sole option. Ever. What I do.... I have 6 physical hard drives totaling 8 partitions. 2...

The cloud is the best way to go if you have a fast internet connection. I have saved several files and pictures on my OneDrive (from Microsoft) and it never ever lost anything in the last ten years or more. My internet connection is so slow I can't use it to store large archives, though... it would take forever to upload :( But I have definitely stopped using CDs or infamous DVDs. These are too slow and unreliable. I even removed the DVD player from my computer. As mentioned earlier in this topic by other member, additional external HDDs or SSDs, or flashdrives or whatever, are not lasting forever, and might crash earlier than you thought, or might get damaged by shocks/fire/water/cat/kid etc... .
