    I could use some advice on the landing gear operation... I have no problems lowering or raising the landing gear, but I cannot find out how to set the gear lever in neutral. According to the manual, after having raised the landing gear, the landing gear lever should by lowered to the mid posistion and the latch should automatically snap from unlatched (Full up) to latched (Mid) position, but I cannot get it to work.

    Hey guys, As you can see, the ETO engineers have been hard at work overhauling some older API airfields that Captain Kurt included in the 354th Fighter Group. With his help, these are turning into GSL airfields, and I have begun working on the French airfields layouts for the 354th. Also, Captain Kurt's French airfield package will include five new airfields built for the Battle of France - Part II, mostly clustered between Paris and Orléans. In addition, Achim27619 also created seven new airfields in France which will also be uploaded very soon; the only holdup is modifying the AFD.bgl files so that all the airfields use one rather than individual versions; this prevents hitting the "wall" of sim only being to handle about two hundred or so AFD files in one installation. Now...

    I think maybe someone's suffering a touch of lockdown-itis....:teapot: A4 Skyhawk...WWII?! and as you say listed in the FSX Military skins??.... Looking at it he may have done some TBD/TBF/TBM skins for a sim? Cheers

    The improvements to clouds are very welcome. It was about time they get rid of these ugly 2D clouds... Maybe now the famous bug of the disappearing cloud shadows at some view angle has gone as well ? I sure hope so... I'm also very curious about any improvements to performances, autogen loading, terrain blurries etc... The current VR implementation (in P3Dv4, I mean) is good enough for me. I just hope for more stability and smoothness (performance). Concerning addon compatibility, it appears most of the P3Dv4 compatible aircrafts might also work in v5 ? What about sceneries ? Only bad thing: despite the annoucements, in these videos the water looks just as terrible as ever... Ah, GODRAYS !

    If only........:sorrow: As you know we obviously have the target indicator screen (T.I.), which is a sort of PPI radar (Plan Position Indicator), that gives friend or foe (red or green), but only gives height by depth of colour and relative distance by user scaling of the T.I screen. Which trying to intercept something by watching and interpreting the small TI screen is very difficult (not completely impossible), but nothing like the one developed in CFS3. The sim has the information needed there, it's just having the ability to convert that into something customisable and more useful. It's another one of those, if only we had access to the game source code, as we could so much more...:( Cheers Shessi

    Thank you for recommendations, Roxane and Cpt. Kurt! Unfortunately I have some troubles with most of the mods. I did install B24 Guy's overhauled models, but they do not have specular activated by default. I tried applying cfs2_overhauled_mdls_shined by OBIO, but those have couple of issues too (e.g., F6F's trim tabs are constantly in up position, N1K2 has mirrored textures again, etc.) I could not find PacTex2 at Are these the same? Mk_Mdl_V2.0 unfortunately does not work under Win7-64:( As for the campaigns, I would really love to enjoy all the new and improved content, but it is rather hard for me to locate all the required mods usually. Regarding the N1K2 skin, I was hoping for something like this:...

    Did you get the three supplemental Pack 3 models that were released and bundled in the Pack 3 paintkit? They are: Model 10: FGR2 (Early) - no RWR on the tail. Model 11: RF-4B Model 12: RF-4B/C (Late) You can find the paint kits on the Virtavia freeware pages. Dave

    Two of the earliest pioneers were C. (Clive? I don't remember now.) Burgess and Matthew Scott who produced, among others, campaigns for the Tainan kokutai (Saburo Sakai's old unit), the Marianas and Okinawa. These either use only stock items or provide upgrades (e.g. an extra airfield or two) that are minimal compared to the later great work by other people. I still have a soft spot for them because of their historical accuracy. I haven't looked in the library here but if they're not available, try the CFS2 campaign section at Simviation. They should be among the earliest entries, I'm guessing. Cheers BuV

    It'll probably depend heavily on the developer. I'm guessing most 4.5 addons will get new/fixed installers for free (assuming they don't just work out of the box), but I fully expect to pay mostly full price for the VRS Superbug and TacPack when they eventually get ported over. Since there's still no native real-world weather capability and no substantial changes to how input devices are handled, hopefully stuff like ActiveSky and FSUIPC will be pretty easy to adapt to V5

    Assuming you're using the keyless installers, all you need to remove are the aircraft and texture folders (each SSW airplane has one of each) from the /simobjects/airplanes directory in P3d. If they're both showing as registered properly (not going into demo mode), make sure you're running the installers as administrator, and try turning off your AV to see if that helps.

    Hi Cees - thanks for considering it. From my limited records, it's mostly like standard period markings. Roundel on port top wing, "NAVY" on starboard top wing. And reversed underneath. These are not quite the same scheme, but shows the markings: Sorry I don't have a lot of source image on that point.
