Shessi, these early Me-109s look really great. Thanks for filling in another chunk of the early history of this aircraft. Also thanks in anticipation of Papi's excellent panels and manual. Just when I think that FS9 is about at the end of the road for new aircraft offerings, more excellence arrives. A friend asked me if I was going to get a new PC to cope with the upcoming FS 2020. It is an indication of the excellence of the a/c, both payware and freeware, that have been produced for this very old programme, together with the fact that it has given me a lot of personal sim-flying satisfaction, that I have not really been looking to upgrade to something 'better'. Maybe I'm at an age where change is always a little suspect and daunting. But I have had such great times flying such great...

Just so you guys can see what fun we're having, come and fly with us in any B-24, B-17, B-25 or C-47 you happen to have on Tuesday in JoinFS in either FSX, FSX-SE or any version of P3D. All four of these aircraft flew our South Atlantic route to North Africa and onto Italy or Corsica. All are welcome this is a fun flight just for a couple of hours. Ed and I will be sharing the cockpit. Just PM either one of us before Monday night so that you can be sent the flightplan and the scenery package to be ready to go on Tuesday.

I think what they did for MAW was "squeeze" the operational area into the maximum map size. Actual Lat/Lon coordinates of landmarks/cities correspond very well with ETO coordinates, but the MAW coordinates are a bit off.

I'm also still stoked about the Leatherneck F-8 Crusader in development. I know this is an F-8J but I'm kind of hoping they roll back to an F-8E (F8U-2NE) as I recall the J model was plagued with problems during most of it's career. There are benefits to the F-8J, more wing/slat and horizontal stab area for better variable speed handling, BLC (Blown Flaps) for lower approach speeds, still has the wing hardpoints for additional weapons. The F-8E on the other hand, same wing hardpoints for air to ground missions, approach speeds are higher, more challenging to land on a carrier. Personally, I'd likely fly it with the Y-Rail Mounts on the fuselage and arm with Sidewinders or Zuni's and be done with it. Right now, in my opinion the Mig-21 is the most challenging jet in DCS but once the...

I seem to remember, back in those days, frame rates weren't invented yet ??.... :) My first ever Flight Sim was called 'Night Flight' on a Sinclair 48K Spectrum. Very good naming choice because 'the scenery' consisted of 2 rows of 12 white dots (may have been even 16..) representing the runway, rest was pitch black. A couple rudimentary instruments including ADF to help find the runway. I was in extacy finding it for the first time because i knew diddly squat about aerial navigation. Loved it to death ! I pinch myself everyday to check i'm not dreaming about Microsoft picking up its once beloved Flight Simulator franchise where it was abandoned years ago in such unbelievable gobsmacking way. ( it does seem to be too good to be true, doesn't it...)

Now it is done... the first part of the Independence Class carriers is ready. Will come with all the US carriers from WWII and the 1950th. Second part will come with the french and spanish carriers from the Independence class later. Did last work on them last weekend, little changes and then a new compiling of the models. After this, during first testing, i got a slight show during landing on this carriers. Very bad frames. So i spend the whole week to find the mistake. Got it just yesterday and now they are very smooth in frames again. So in this week there will be three different pacages of carriers. The independence class, the USS Ranger and the Saipan class. The USS Midway class from the 1950 is neerly ready too. Last shots from the USS Bataan and the USS Monterey

Yeah, it was the one in the Tomcat package I was referring to. The AI one. I'm not sure if this was what was meant in the interview, because I had never heard anything about a full A-6 module, so I assumed the question was referring to the AI A-6 which was to be part of the Tomcat package. "To summarize, current planned free content for the F-14 includes: Forrestal class carriers (compatible with all carrier aircraft) A-6E
