Moving on from daytime smoke effects, I'm trying to work on firestorm effects using Coventry as a test. While the effects through a bomb-sight look good, I'm not at all happy with the distant effects. I also get the same circular effect with target indicators; it's a very flat ground level bright circle which looks unrealistic IMO. Distant view bomb run

It's just supposition, but I'm pretty sure this new card will not bring any performance improvement for people playing on a screen. For people playing on multiple screens, or single screen with ultra high resolution, or VR helmets, it might do some good though. VR is the main focus for me. If the next generation of helmets bring in some serious resolution, then this new RTX might become useful. Now, if only we could get some faster CPUs as well... (or a better implementation of the game engine in P3D...)

Already been having a lot of fun with both of them, even though I will still favor the VVC over the MVC.

Been waiting for the new one's as I need to upgrade my GPU. I am currently using a GTX 770. Yeah, I know. The 2080 Ti is way out of my budget, but I am sure I can convince my significant other on the need for the 2080. Want to see the difference in performance compared to the 1080 Ti first though, as prices for that card will drop, as long as I can still find one by that time, lol.

Glad you like it! I think it works best on a clean install. As for that German flaktrack, I think it must be from one of Airfighter's vehicles. Will tidy it up when I get a round tuit.

Thanks again Roman, after realizing that I forgot to reinstall the sound folder I could hear the engines start after the starter was engaged. The Energizer whine is beautiful and everything works perfectly. Now I am going after some repaints of the 416th Bomb Group downloading all kinds of info this afternoon. I have the blank all metal textures ready. I downloaded two movies from utube too and had a "movie afternoon" drooling and can't wait to do the first noseart and markings and get in the air. I also downloaded two French airfields that I will tweak to 1945 standards like get rid of the go-cart track. LOL :biggrin-new: I'll post the results here later. The gauge is super!!!!!!! Richard

And I am not copycat of Falcon409 LOL!!! I posted pics of my beta test Stearman in the GAS Stearman thread of the PT13 at KDNL Daniel Field in Georgia current day and then when I discovered a photo below taken of Daniel Field which was a Primary Training Contract Field in 1944 decided that since this Stearman is all vintage, it needed a vintage field so I started yesterday morning on this and worked until about 1:00AM on it not wanting to quit. I tweaked it a few times today in between working on my A-26 Invader. Here are the photos of KDNL in 1944. I consider it still a WIP but thought it was up to sharing. Here is a class graduation photo taken around a Stearman PT-13 Trainer: And here are some shots of the field by an instructor:

Close, but not quite. It's a jug mixer, of course. Tidy work, Joost, VCs are a bear but very satisfying when they're done! :applause:

And (for me) the star of the show, Rudolf Uhlenhaut's (Mercedes'race engineer) company car, this 300 SLR, which is basically an F1 for the road. If Mercedes would ever auction this car, it could become the most expensive car ever sold. (Current record stands at 65 million for a Ferrari 250 GTO). Another 300SLR exists, and is also owned by Mercedes.
