couple more images of the cowl and motor here you can see I need to do a bit more filling and smoothing of the transition from the forward plastic cowl ring to the main cowling here is a look at the rear of the cowl. You can see the spacing around the fuselage as well as the thin but sturdy birch ply and how it nicely imitates the look of a sheet metal cowling skin. this is the cowling before I wrapped it with the birch ply - In this picture I was setting the engine and making sure I could 'set it back' from the cowl opening - the crankcase bell should be just inside of the opening - almost flush.

Hi you all, I remember 20 years ago having read that flying cfs1 missions in cfs2 was possible, in fact the single mission menu offers that possibility. I remember as well having read that fs2000 was able to be merged with this software (cfs2) so you can fly where ever you want with a stunning vought corsair. Now, im here trying to master 400 pages of forum with no luck. Please, can you help me? Thanks a lot.

I have one aircraft that will NOT stop a catastrophic aileron flutter problem. It's the wonderful Potez 62 (http://restauravia.fr/html/creations_fs2004.html). Beautifully modeled aircraft that I really like. Usually, if this problem occurs in an aircraft I can solve it by substituting an airfile from a similar type plane but not in this case. If I stop force feed back through settings the issue stops. Is there anything in the airfile that I might adjust to remedy this? Hope someone can help. Thanks. Steve

Seems like saturation is too low. Go to setup inside the sim. Scroll down to the lighting section. Moving the saturation slider to the right will increase colors value. Moving the slider to the left (desaturate) will make the colors become grey at some point. Otherwise, it is a good suggestion to let the sim rebuild the shaders.

I think the reason that Military aviation in Flight sim had died out is that it lacks the infrastructure to do anything but really fly in formation. Even TacPack is abysmal I'm comparison to something like DCS or IL2. Which is where the cash is for military Flightsimmimg. Even A2A hasn't come out with any new warbird stuff in ages. F-4D dead. F-104 dead. T-33 dead. They had some military contract work which they showed off the T-38A and a T-6II. But likely like MilViz are not able to sell to the entertainment side. I'm hoping that the HUN will make it to P R and be exportable to FS2020.

Not being much of a hardware guy and having failed in two attempts so far to set up a dual boot system, when the time comes I think I will probably go with a known quantity like Dell, which I've had no complaints with over the years and bite the bullet on Windows 10, may as well get used to it since at some point there won't be any other option. That said, I want to minimize the fallout from the switch as much as possible. If I get one with dual HDs, are my files safe from W10 updates if they are on a different HD than the OS? Curious what your update checklist is Andy, would you mind sharing?

Thanks a bunch Devildog, following your suggestions I got it working at a max resolution of 1920x1440, the screen still goes black if I select my monitors native resolution of 2560x1440, but I can live with it. One other thing I had to do to get the graphics working correctly was in properties/compatibility I had to check the box that says "High DPI Scaling override, Override high DPI scaling behavior performed by application", otherwise the game wasn't fitting the screen correctly. I may do some research to see if I can "force" any higher resolutions with my RTX 2080Ti, either by modifying the dispaly entry in the CFG file, or possibly in the registry. Thanks again for your help.

Just asking why everyone calls it FS2020? Neither Microsoft nor Asobo has it by that name. The official name is Microsoft Flight Simulator aka MSFS. Avsim started the whole thing by renaming it FS2020 or FS20, which is the name of the latest farm simulator. FS2020 is also the name of Aerofly's sim for iOS. Why confuse?

shoobedoo, First thing, uninstall from default location. You need to install directly into C:\Combat Flight Simulator 2 or some other location other than the default. Windows 10 doesn't like it installed in the default location. Second, once installed (we didn't used to sanction this), Do the CFS2.exe 172KB "no CD" fix. Windows 10 doesn't like the default CFS2.exe, then right click the CFS2 Icon or exe file and under Properties/Compatibility run as Administrator and compatibility mode for XP SP3. Third, the CFS.cfg is right in the main CFS2 folder just above the CFS2.exe file AFTER you run it the first time, though all I change in it is to ZERO out the play movie, i.e.:
