It is important that people read the manual PLEASE. There are a few traps if you don't follow the procedures and there are some nice unusual features which are also listed.:engel016:

The problem is in the model. The CTD remains even after I applied Uncle TGT patch. Cheers Pepe

Hi Pat, Now that you mentioned it, I do remember those bowsers you mentioned. I remember when F-8's would go on jack stands and a hydraulic hookup was made so that the gears could be raised and lowered for periodic maintenance checks. It's been awhile. Speaking of maintenance checks, I remember when aircraft were subject to calendar odd/even checks then that changed to phased maintenance checks. The logs and records guy had to go into each aircraft logbook and convert the time due for the next cal check to the next phased maintenance interval due.

It's not too bad- 7.5 Mb or so. I was having a long and acrimonious debate with meself over re-drawing the hull. I could probably trim a few Mb out. But, 16,666 (all those sixes must mean something!) is acceptable for the subject matter.

Just had a look at it in MCX - no time for testing today, but it looks great and not too heavy :D Will fit nicely with the classics I'm working on.

One thing I am hard up for are deck monkeys. Been playing around with that package of RAF erks, not so great. Does any one have USN flight deck crew avaliable to share? Gary was using some.

In the mean time, give this a run, see how it goes, uncover any problems. Latest versions, CVAN-65, CGN-9, DLGN-25, dynamic Skipjacks, helios, and some smeg to fly off. I'm getting great FPS on my 25 watt rig.

Well, they do have (did have? old plane :) ) hydraulic bowsers they could hook up to the planes to power up the hyd systems. I know, they aren't modeled in the sim, but for real world, wherever that is, they do have them. Had to use one for my radar system to power the antenna. The F4N/J/S's radar system. I worked on those a lot. Sorry, nit picking... Carry on! Pat☺

Just play around with it. Things to know: You cannot screw up a model unless you overwrite with an export, so always change names and don't overwrite! So. To start. One thing I do to ease the process is make a dummy deck model by peeling everything off the ship except the deck, then rename (eg:cvn65deckmockup) and export. This can be done with the material editor. Load your dummy deck. Or, load, say a mule. Basically, all of these are at co-ordinates 0,0,0. Once you have a model loaded, look at the toolbar at the top of the MCX window. Third row down, under where it says wizards, there is a row of ikons; a globe, a blue box with an arrow in the corner, a pair of big balls, and one I call the trudeau schwanz: two tiny balls and a short arrow. So, lets change the orientation of the...

I've noticed that the wing fold will occur only when the plane is running and the chocks will appear only when the engines are off or powering down. Guess in the real world, hydraulic power is needed for this and avail only with engines running. With chocks in use (visible) and power off, they (chocks) will auto disappear when spooling engines, even though (Ctrl .) brakes keys are on. Sometimes, the chocks are a little slow to appear. Maybe programed to show when engines are stopped. Pilot goes away simultaneously as chocks appear. Just my observations.
