Doug, thanks for the reminder of all the info at FSDeveloper.com. I will check it out, I've been on their website before, but had forgotten about it. I haven't thought about painting aircraft in MSFS until the release of the Shrike F-86. Thanks again for that info on COMP textures, it's a big help. Ed

I've been busy cutting and pasting, and painting images into this project. I have yet to create a COMP map for it as I don't understand the concept yet, but have been reading and watching some You Tubes on the subject. Notice to the left of the forward fuselage band black border stripe, the shade of the metal is slightly darker, and looks better, which is a copy and paste from another aircraft. Not sure what's going on there?

It is a complete mystery for me, as I have it the other way round. The 2D panel shows up complete with gauges in all models (folders). However the models inside CWDT_P-51DBR and CWDT_P-51DFT only how the gauges inside the 2D panel. I have already moved the gauges from the panel folder to the main gauge folder in FS9 root folder, but no result. Cheers, Huub

I agree, Mach3DS those textures look great, as a side note the DCS Sabre is a great module for DCS, it's functionality is amazing. Wish we had that level of detail in MSFS. I fly it regularly and enjoy it very much.

Have a look inside your ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D folder. There you can find a file called "gauges.cfg". Inside there, you can add a path optionally. In my case, I did make an additional entry because I have many FSX aircraft I want to work in my P3D as well without copying them all into my P3D. This works for all paths - simobjects, effects, gauges. Here my entries:

I didn't manage to bypass the repaint blockade either. However, I now have too much time on my hands to continue here. It's a shame really, because the model would really benefit from a few good repaints... C130H_CS5 by TiAr, auf Flickr Now waiting for the announced Blackbird J-Models. Should be more fun. Thomas

I've been trying to sort the panel/gauge issue, but I'm not getting anywhere. The P-51D shows the normal panel but no VC The other two, P-51DBR & P-51FT show the normal panel and the VC. What confuses me is that those two versions alias the panel from the P-51D, & show the VC, but the main P-51D does not show the VC. I even moved the panel from the P-51D to the P-51FT & aliased the P-51D to that, still no VC in the P-51D. The textures are all sorted out, with a little bit of correcting of the aircraft.cfg.
