I don't think you're going to get far with this one, only 11 posts here and half of them passive-aggressive. "Don't feed the trolls", springs to mind.

Hello all I recently made many tests to set up guns and barrels animations in models, and the results I constated let me interpretate some items slightly differently. All the values from M to V seem to be for the AI guns animations, and if your model is not animated with gunx, barrelx animations, it don't seems of any use to set it up. the values M, N, O are X, Z and Y offsets in this order, and define the center of a turrel or a scarf ring, the relevant values for muzzle flashes in the lines must be defined from these offsets. the value P seems to be the angle, in degree, of the drawn barrel, from the horizontal, clockwise when seen from the left. I didn't made any test for the value Q the last other values seem to be as defined by Gedm. you can "manually" try to set up...

Hi Ivan, I am not the original author of the post. Just grabbed it somewhere. It has a lot of good basic information. As to why changing the trigger and spec. numbers affecting the accuracy of the AI gunners I don't know. I was told to try it by someone in the know. All I know is that it really works. Regards, B24Guy

You're quite right, John, thanks ! Motion blur was indeed set at medium. Spinner Wobble is gone after setting blur to Off. Glad that's solved, thanks again ! (did have a first 'Back To Desktop' encounter while flying the clipped wing version. Believe that's the first ever with MSFS for me..) Btw, i do have a feeling that faster roll rate is indeed modelled in the clipped wing FM. Btw(2), gorgeous screenshots again ! Atm it doesn't come any better than this, éh ? :applause:

Hi Folks, I've often wondered why the Fiat RS14 Foatplane was never converted to CFS2. It was a popular aircraft with it's crews and stayed in service until 1948. I once had a CFS2 conversion but has been lost in sands of time !!! It was a lovely little aircraft just right for those late night Mediterranean Jaunts.

Hello The_B24_Guy, Thanks for posting a pretty clear explanation of the various fields. A couple comments though: For P, You also need to take into account that most aircraft only have their gunsight completely aligned with the direction of flight at one particular airspeed. Another thing to remember is that the various gunstations may not all be at the same starting elevation. The Cowl guns will likely be a couple feet higher than the Wing guns. I don't believe there is any accounting for deceleration of projectiles in flight at all. Yet one more thing is that sometimes it makes sense to intentionally misalign the guns. I do this when the guns have radically different velocities and trajectories for better deflection shooting.

Lots of reworking...finding bits that were NQR ....the earlier version of the commercial transport...nose blackout...stripes...'stage III' on the engines...etc. There's still an older ver...with black radome, etc....and Ruskie flags on the tail...;)

Beautiful screenies, John ! Is a better/faster roll rate actually modelled here you think ? ( haven't tried it myself yet. Somehow i feel for this bird, having its wings clipped as rigorously as this. They should've left atleast *some* rounding off.. This is done with a blunt axe ! Terrific screenies nontheless :encouragement:)

Kurt: Wonderful, you reminded me...I already had downloaded and used that utility years ago (ah the wonders of age). And remember how to use it. Great. Why does one get that dreaded "Failure to initialize the database" error message? I get it now (sometimes) and remember being frustrated in not knowing why or what it meant, and therefore how to correct whatever error it was addressing. And how do I reduce the widescreen display for CFS2 and go back to a more detailed smaller screen size (although I do have a wide screen monitor)? I think I remember believing that the wide screen would be neat, but the resolution deteriorates badly in this better unit. Will try not to be a pest as I wade back into the world of CFS2. -=Archive=- dcp

That made my day!! I'm just looking at possibly getting into the Reentry Simulator platform (https://store.steampowered.com/app/882140/Reentry__An_Orbital_Simulator/) since I'm a huge Mercury/Gemini fan. If these would be developed for this sim, I'd be all over it. Who knows, as a NASA / space freak, I still might be, even if it's focused on current-generation hardware. Thanks again, dl

Hello Aleatorylamp, Battery installation is complete. Needed a bit of help from my Wife to get one of the hooks in place. Her eyesight is a better than mine and even in daylight it wasn't easy to put enough light where it needed to go. I also found out today that the nuts and hooks don't really interchange well. They are supposed to be identical, but are not really. It probably explains why the hook in back did not stay in place last night. Every time the nut is tightened, the hook twists out of its hole in the battery tray. In the front position, it can be held in place. In back there is no room to get a hand on the bottom of the hook. By the way, the temperature will get down to -3.9 Degrees C tonight..... What you just described is basically all I am doing.

My own preference is a combination of GW3 and Silver Wings with a lot of extras. Silver Wings is really a click and install enhancement with the odd minor bug, GW3 is a make over and if one follows the well laid out instructions it works well. Just about any FS9 aircraft installs and works, certain weather and environment additions make nice eye candy, so it's pretty much FS9 on steroids. But do follow the instructions and go with a bog standard clean FS9 base. :encouragement:
