Funnily enough, anything related to aerospace engineering I've touched professionally so far ended with me quitting after not too long out of frustration. I guess there still is a difference between romanticism and reality. At the moment, I get to have fun testing what amounts to overengineered (empty) trash cans for hazardous materials and hold the title of "grumpiest morning person in human history". There are no suits involved. Nah, I'll still be a PITA when needed here or over at Bill's Grey Eyebrow Tavern(TM) (where is the rascal anyway?). And it's sad to say, but the community for that other simulator is much more fertile ground for reality checks by sledge hammer.

After a long and frustrating time with the Falcon 20 project, I have now decided to continue the V2. The new picture shows a new base repaint of the VIP version, which I will use for all models now. Now I only have to repaint more than 40 textures to the new base textures, then the V2 can be released. I have no idea how long it will take. Thomas

Correct theyre major sponsors to the Service, they tend to be for aircraft that operate in the regions they have interests or developments in like remote mine sites. The RFDS primarily lives of donations with Prince Charles as one of the chairman of the committee Elders here in AU is a major real estate company and for this instance the real estate company sponsored the frame.

I took a look after installing and while it would otherwise be a candidate for some VC updating and external overhaul there are several problems that make me not interested. Most prominent is that there is a fair amount forward of the panel that is blocked out by a placeholder so you can see through to the runway around the rudder pedals and a larger area between the rudder pedals and the firewall. . .not to mention the entire prop (except for a small section of the tips. The other problem is that there isn't any fuel information so you can't even start it. I checked the cfg file and other than the title and one line for the fuel type there's nothing to indicate number of tanks, total fuel, etc. When I went to check the Fuel and payload section, the fuel portion was grayed out and...

Great repaints on them Matt. Are these different logos on each aircraft's rear fuselage representing sponsors for them? I know that BHP is one of the mining companies and Elders is an agricultural firm.

I'm with you gents on the retro front, at least for one aircraft (Tomcat, which is WIP). Maybe down the line the requests will come in for some of the other models to be P3D converted like the NMAI F-4, Scooter and JAI A-7s. I know many on the MAIW team are European based, so I would expect a few classic NBAI models get the treatment. Cecil would be a one off project, but I would love to fill in some F-18s and S-3s (during my time) to ease the load on NAS Oceana.

Now I know the meaning of "darkest Africa". Maybe next time I'll look at the clock before I hit "Start". Didn't and it sure got dusky in a hurry, then VERY dark. Checking the destination notes by flashlight We found "no lights, no services, no landmarks, no worries." so we pressed on. The sun sank below the horizon before a third of the leg was done! Got near the destination and planned to let Taco go in first to mark the way, but he couldn't find the strip. Hung my head out the window and saw a lighter line of dirt in the black so pointed the nose that way. At about a half-mile out I was brave enough to commit to it being a landing strip and, luckily it was - without buildings, poles, pipes or other hazards. Next leg, I'm going to launch by the dawn's early light...

Albeit a bit dated, not too bad at all. No 2D cockpit and it's not FSX Native. I downloaded that model quite some time ago and got it to work in FS9 with a bit of tweaking. Does fine in FSX, or it did when my gaming machine was still up and running. Virtual Cockpit is very functional. Might be a contender for someone to take under their wing and clean it up just a bit. BB686:US-flag:

Hey guys, First, thank you for all of your feedback on this thread! Second, because this issue was discussed before, we did put a gun station on the glider, and the Ju-52 is also equipped with guns. Bearcat241 and UncleTgt seem to be more on the right track here. Considering this, I'm going to test this evening altering the MISC_DATA section category from a "9" to a "2," and see if that makes a difference. Stay tuned...

Respect, Bjoern! I'll also say following your developments over the years (mostly at our favourite developers' site) gave me a better appreciation of how much work you've actually expended on the sim; so you've fully earned your title of the world's 2nd worst developer*. I still can't get used to the idea of you holding down a proper job in aerospace engineering, but I've enjoyed the banter on so many threads there as well as here. I hope you're not going to disappear entirely! (*lest anyone not get the joke, ask yourself who is the world's worst developer? :mixed-smiley-027:)

That's a port of Warbirlovers CFS2 model, Possibly made native? Still CFS2 vintage, very good in it's day, but that was well over a decade ago. Probably the only option though.

Yesterday, after twelve and a half years and more than 2200 hours in the Steam release alone, I've uninstalled FSX from my PC (after having done so from my laptop a few days earlier). It hadn't gotten much use in a year because in light of X-Plane 11, I finally realized how old it actually got. Not necessarily because of the visuals and better framerates alone, but rather because of a lot of small things like portability, multiplatform compatibility (Linux!), development potential, quality of life (free camera, quick views, etc.) and a much better base systems simulation out of the box (multiple batteries, bleed air, oxygen, FMS, etc.). I'd lie if I said that I didn't miss anything about MS' last installment of a classic flight simulation, such as weather depiction and AI/ATC, but...
